Mr. Khalid Raza, CCIE 1192, Distinguished Engineer at
CISCO Systems
Mr. Khalid is a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems.
As a recognized expert within Cisco and worldwide ISP and
NRN community, Khalid has been designing large scale IP and
MPLS networks for over ten years. His expertise includes IP
routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS and BGP), MPLS and ISP
networks. He represents Cisco in industry panel discussion
and technical conferences around the world and discusses
technologies and protocols related to large scale ISP and
enterprise networks.
Khalid has influenced technology directions and decisions
within Cisco and ISP and NRN community worldwide. He has
produced technical white papers and co-authored a book
called "Large Scale IP Network Solutions". His current area
of interest is converge networks and IPv6.
Presentation Title: Deploying IPv6
in an ISP network:
We will look at the SP
architectures, talk will cover both IGP, and BGP. We will
look at how the SP’s can start V6 service, if they have
existing MPLS network by offering 6PE or 6VPE. We will go
into the details of V6 over MPLS. We will then look into
dual stack deployment depending on your choice of IGP.
Short case study would be presented on multi-topology ISIS
how its deployed with both V4 and V6 address family. Then
we will look at OSPFv3, we will discuss how multi-instance
is deployed how its different then multi-topology IGP’s.
Finally we will talk about BGP in dual stack setup how
multi-protocol extensions are used in deploying IPv6.
